A historical city in southwest of Iran is the City of Roses synonymous with images of poets, flowers and the cultural capital of Iran. The name of city found in Persepolis inscriptions are the oldest relics that shows it was used as the instruction site during building of Persepolis. Shiraz was capital in many periods of history which the longest one is Zandieh dynasty from 1750 to 1781. It has been one of the most celebrated cities throughout history and there’s still plenty to see.

Day 1: Visit Zandiye Complex, Nasir Mosque, Qavam House


Our full day shiraz tour will start to visit The Zandiye Complex. It is the most outstanding attraction of Shiraz which comprises of Arg-e Karim Khan (Karim Khan Citadel), Karim Khan Bath house, Vakil Mosque and Vakil Bazaar. The citadel contains of a museum and wonderful architectural construction.

Next place is an old public bath called Vakil Bath. It is a public and big bath for almost all the people of Shiraz with different occupations who are shown using statues and clothed in those distinct jobs. This bathroom takes you to the past time around four hundred years ago and you can sense life of people from Shiraz at that time.

Then continue to visit Vakil mosque. The mosque has only two iwans instead of the usual four, on the northern and southern sides of a large open court. The iwans and court are decorated with typical Shirazian colorful tiles.

Then, we will pass The Bazaar to enjoy Shiraz hands crafts, beautiful architecture and colorful shops. Also, we will have a rest in a restaurant near there and enjoy the great delicious traditional Iranian food, such as kebab.

Then drive to Nasirolmolk mosque. It is a traditional mosque that was built under the Qajar Persia. The mosque includes extensive colored glass in its facade, and displays other traditional elements such as the Panj Kāse ("five concaved") design. It is named in popular culture as the Pink Mosque, due to the usage of considerable pink color tiles for its interior design.

Next place is Qavam house. It is a traditional and historical house with brilliant architecture and attracts with mirrors. Return to the hotel stay overnight.

Day 2: Visit Persepolis, Necropolis and Pasargadae

 

Our full day tour will begin to visit Persepolis. It exemplifies the Achaemenid style of architecture, and its structures include the Great Stairway, the Gate of All Nations, the Apadana, the Hall of a Hundred Columns, the Tripylon Hall and the Tachara, the Hadish Palace, the Palace of Artaxerxes III, the Imperial Treasury, the Royal Stables, and the Chariot House. Every year, many people all around the world come to visit this phenomenon.

Then drive to Necropolis that is a large, designed cemetery with elaborate tomb monuments. This is a sight 3km away from Persepolis, which was first used in 2nd millennium BC by Elamites for their rock reliefs. Four Achaemnian kings are buried here and several Sassanian rock reliefs are carved on the face of the mountains. A unique Achaemenian building is still standing in front of the perpendicular cliffs.

After that drive to we will visit Pasargadae in our amazing shiraz tour. Tomb of Cyrus the Great is located in this place. A person who writes the human rights. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 3: Visit Saadi and Hafez Tomb, Eram Garden

After breakfast our shiraz tour will start to visit Saadi Tomb. The Tomb of Saadi is the tomb of iranian poet Saadi in Shiraz. Saadi was buried at the end of his life at a Khanqah at the current location.

After that we drive to Hafez Tomb. The Tomb of Hafez and its associated memorial hall are two memorial structures erected in the northern edge of Shiraz memory of the celebrated Persian poet Hafez. The open pavilion structures are situated in the Musalla Gardens on the north bank of a seasonal river and house the marble tomb of Hafez. The tomb, its gardens, and the surrounding memorials to other great figures are a focus of tourism in Shiraz.

Then we have meal time at wonderful restaurants. After lunch, we will visit Eram Garden. This is a typical Persian Garden,which is much older than the Qajar house in the middle of it. The garden itself dates back to approximately Seljuk period. Today it is a botanic garden under University of Shiraz.

Day 4: Visit Bishapour

Early morning after breakfast Drive to visit bishapour. Bishapur was an ancient city in Sasanid Persia on the ancient road between Persis and Ilam. The road linked the Sassanid capitals Estakhr and Ctesiphon. It is located south of modern Faliyan in The Kazeroon County of Pars Province, Iran. Bishapur was built near a river crossing and at the same site there is also a fort with rock-cut reservoirs and a river valley with six Sassanid rock reliefs. The most important point about this city, is the combination of Persian and Roman art and architecture that hadn't been seen before Bishapur construction. Bishapour is the first city with vertical and horizontal streets also in the city specially in interior design we can see tile work that's adapted from Roman Art.

And we will visit Anahita Temple. Anahita temple is one of the famous buildings of the ancient city of Bishapur in Kazeroun town which is related to Anahita, the goddess of water. Next to Shapur castle in the ancient valley of Bishapour, there is a large square room known as Anahita temple of Bishapur. This temple is in a cubic form which each of its side is nearly 14 meters and it is created out of carved stones and without any mortars in two layers and in the Achaemenid architecture style and these walls are connected to each other with iron holders.

Anahita temple is located in a six meters’ fovea from the ground and a stairway is connected from it to the castle. This temple is roofless and the purpose of building was to flow the water of Bishapur River which is flowing in the 250 meters’ distance from it inside the temple and after circling in the bottom of the temple, the water emerged through an aqueduct.

 

Day 5: visit Firouzabad

After breakfast we start our full day shiraz tour to visit firouzabad monuments. Firuzabad is located south of Shiraz. The city is surrounded by a mud wall and ditch. The original ancient city of Gor, dating back to the Achaemenid period, was destroyed by Alexander the Great. Centuries later, Ardashir I, the founder of the Sassanian Empire, revived the city before it was ransacked during the Arab Muslim invasion of the seventh century. It was again revived by the Buyids, but was eventually abandoned in the Qajar period and was replaced by a nearby town, which is now Firuzabad. We will visit Qal'eh Dokhtar that is a castel made by Ardashir I, in present-day Fars, Iran, in 209 AD. It is located on a mountain slope near the Firouzabad-Kavar road.

Then drive to palace of Ardeshir. The Palace of Ardashir Papakan, also known as the Atash-kadeh, is a castle located on the slopes of the mountain on which Dezh Dokhtar is situated. Built in AD 224 by King Ardashir I of the Sassanian Empire, it is located two kilometers (1.2 miles) north of the ancient city of Gor, i.e. the old city of Piruz-Apad in Pars, in ancient Persia. The structure contains three domes, among other features, making it slightly larger and more magnificent than its predecessor, the nearby castle of Dezh Dokhtar.
