Kish Island
One of the most beautiful islands and touristic resort of the Persian Gulf and sightseeing place of Hormozgan Province in the south of Iran is Kish Island. Owing to its free trade zone status it is touted as a consumer's paradise, with numerous malls, shopping centres, tourist attractions, and resort hotels. It has an estimated population of 26,000 residents and about 1 million people visit the island annually. Having gorgeous white silvery sand beaches, the island provides one of the most beautiful places to visit in the Persian Gulf.
Description
This island is a free trade zone. It often called the Pearl of the Persian Gulf that has an area of 90 square km. It is known for being a beautiful resort in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf. The island has relaxed laws in comparison to the rest of Iran. Even on the most luxurios island of Iran, you can enjoya a visit to a cultural heritage dating back more than two millennia. This island has been inhabited by Iranians since Achaemenid Empire and it is rich in history as its beauty. The native people of this area combination of Iranians and Arab- Iranians of the country’s southern provinces, who had migrated to the island during its ancient times of prosperity. Thus they speak Persian and Arabic.
Like mainland Iran, local people are friendly and hospitable. The main attraction of Kish Island is its gorgeous beaches. Most of its area is covered by beautiful beaches where you can go swimming in the blue-gem waters of the gulf. The complexion of the native people is dark and their physical characteristics are similar to those of the natives of the southern Iran. The increase in population is the result of the migration of Iranians from all parts of the country who come to work or invest in Kish. This has created considerable job opportunities and encouraged more migration to the island.

The island has numerous tourist attractions as well as historical places like: Kariz underground whish is a 570 millions years old city, Harireh ancient city,Green Tree which is one the oldest trees of Iran, Greek Ship that is one of the ancient heritages of the island, Dolphin park, Bird park, Coral Reef, Hoor cottage and Safari. We suggest you to go clubs that are near the sea and Grand recreational pier that is located in the east of the island. You can also enjoy marine recreations such as water skiing, underwater diving, Jetski, and Parasailing, and women can enjoy swimming in ladies plage ( women’s beach). However, it is also considered as the fourth best tourist destination in south Asia with reference to the official sources of tourism industry.
