Varzaneh Desert
If you are interested in desert regions, you must have hear the name of Isfahan, with its beautiful deserts; one of them that is situated in the eastern part is Varzaneh Desert. Here is about 100 km of Isfahan and 150 km of Yazd, which covers an area of over 17,000 hectares of windy sands in Iran. At the heart of this desert, you can see sandy hills make a spectacular view that wind beautifully crafted them in different shapes, including longitudinal hills, crests and sandy pyramids. Hills are one hundred meters high and about thirty kilometers wide and stretches from the Gavkhoni wetland to the city of Varzaneh, with an approximate length of 60 Kilometers up to the south of Gavkhoni Lake and the village of Jara.
Description
The entire area is known as the Khara Desert, but nowadays it is considered as two distinct parts; a part of this desert and the other part of the Khara Desert. The part that is called the Khara Desert is 30 km away from the this desert and near the village of Khara that, this part of the desert does not have such facilities, and its features are not very welcome. The road to the desert is called Varzaneh-Hassan Abad road. 10 km away from the road, you can see the recreational site, Oasis, and Desert. At the beginning of this route, there is camel mills (Asiyab Shotor) cow-turn (Gav Gard) and cow-well (Gav Chah, ox well).
The services offered in desert include camel rides, car rides and crossing the top of the Oasis with Zip Line. Also, Varzaneh Desert visitors can see animals such as Jackal, Fox, Kangaroo Rats and Scorpion or Rattle is visible in a large vegetation area if we have flashlights. But in spite of the fact that a significant number of the tourists have spent the night there, but no one has ever reported the bite. The tourist season of the desert begins in mid-October and continues until mid-June, which attracted many visitors from Isfahan, Tehran, Shiraz and other parts of the country during this 9 months and they are guests of this desert.
Entertainments of Varzaneh Desert
There are a number of thrilling entertainment in the desert you can enjoy such as; one of the most popular recreational activities in the desert is walking on hot sands. So take off your shoes so you can walk on the hot hills of sand and relax in this cute desert. Another recreation of desert is riding camels. Every year in May, the Camel riding championship are held in this desert. This desert has high ramps and is very suitable for sand riding. To do this, you can use the boards in the residences that they rent them to tourists. The other exciting recreation is driving four-wheel motorcycles that moves fast over the sand dunes. Of course you cannot get it alone as a non-professional, so motorcycle drivers do it for you. Off-roading is also another kind of the desert enjoyment. Due to the existence of sand, only SUV cars can move in these areas. In this desert, there are two zipp lines, one is situated in the Khara desert, about 30 meters in length, while the other is in Varzaneh recreational site with a length of 400 meters. An exciting sport that is done in the windy and usually high-altitude areas. Desert areas because of wind blowing are a fine place for this kind of sport.
