Milad Tower Tehran

One of the towers in Tehran that is a multi-purpose tower and a great comlex including various parts of technical and cultural varied structures is Milad Tower that became a new symbol of Tehran right after its construction. The tower is the 6th tallest tower in the world and the tallest building in Tehran. It is located between the Qarb Town and district of Gisha, standing at 435 meters from the base to the tip of the antenna. The head consists of a large pod with 12 floors, the roof of which is at 315 meters.

Description

The tower is a part of the International Trade and Convention Center of Tehran, which also includes a five-star hotel, a convention center, a world trade center and an IT park. The first idea about a new symbol for Tehran was in 1990's. The construction of the tower was commenced in 1997.

Upon completion of its 11-year-long construction in 2008, Milad Tower was considered the sixth-tallest freestanding telecommunication tower in the world. The tower was opened a year later, in 2008, albeit numerous conflicts on the history of the tower still prevail, such as some sources suggesting that the commencement of the tower's construction was a year earlier instead of 2000 and that the tower was completed a year later instead of 2007.

The tower, with its tallness of 435 m (1,427 ft), is the tallest in Iran, the 6th tallest media transmission tower on the planet. The construction took 11 years, headed by Iranian architect Mohammad Reza Hafezi. As a result, the tower was officially opened on February 20, 2009 by the mayor of Tehran in front of 250 journalists from all over the world. The Tower comprises of five primary parts: establishment, move (campaign) structure, shaft, head structure and recieving wire pole. The entryway structure comprises of six stories. The initial three stories comprise of 63 exchange units, 11 nourishment courts, a cafeteria and a business items display, which should be 260 square meters.
